The Company of the Savior and the Disciples of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary have signed a framework collaboration agreement to develop the educational project in Stamford (CT).
It is with tremendous joy and excitement that we announce the final step in the agreement between the Sisters of the Company of the Savior and the Disciples of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary in Stamford, CT, following three years of successful collaboration.
Representing the capstone of our collaboration agreement, next school year 2025-2026, we will officially be two schools united in mission and location: Stella Maris School for boys, offering Grades 1 through 8, under the direction of the Disciples of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary; and Mater Salvatoris School for girls and boys in Pre-K and Kindergarten, and for all-girls offering Grades 1 through 10, under the direction of the Sisters of the Company of the Savior.
Both schools will open one grade level each successive year up through Grade 12, and both schools will continue to share the same facility and campus, residing at 926 Newfield Avenue.
The signing of this agreement is a commitment to our motto: “Two Schools, One Family.” Significantly, it ensures the presence of our two Religious Institutes (Sisters and Disciples) for the long term and fortifies the foundation of our partnership as one family for future generations.
Our unique model of two single-sex schools sharing one mission and location allows us to best serve you—our school families—who are vital to our success. As two schools, our Religious Institutes are best able to develop robust classroom experiences tailored to girls’ and boys’ specific developmental needs, interests, and ways of learning. As one family, girls and boys benefit from joint activities and social interaction; parents benefit from synchronized schedules; and most important, every student receives an equally authentic, rigorous, and dynamic Catholic education.
