Faith Life at School

At Stella Maris, we place great emphasis on nurturing the spiritual growth and formation of our students. Faith is at the heart of everything we do, guiding our students toward a deeper relationship with God and helping them integrate their beliefs into every aspect of their lives. Our carefully crafted religious programs offer numerous opportunities for personal reflection, community worship, and engagement with the rich teachings of the Church. From daily Mass to seasonal celebrations, every experience at our school invites students to draw closer to Christ and live a life filled with purpose and faith.

Our spiritual activities include:

Every morning, our Chaplain leads the school in prayer, fostering a spirit of reflection and gratitude.

Each class is given the opportunity for Confession once a month, while families can also benefit from designated times for confession through our pastoral care services.

On the first Friday of each month, all students gather in the school chapel for Eucharistic Adoration, taking time to reflect and adore the Lord.

Throughout the Church’s liturgical year, students actively participate in practices that bring the meaning of each season to life:

• Advent: Students work together to create the Nativity Scene, preparing their hearts for the coming of Christ.
• Lent: Fasting, prayer, and almsgiving are practiced, helping students grow in spiritual discipline.
• May: The month is dedicated to honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary through the tradition of offering flowers.

We invite families to take part in special retreat days during Advent and Lent, providing a time for spiritual preparation during these holy seasons.

These spiritual exercises, grounded in the life and teachings of St. Ignatius, help individuals discern God’s will in their lives and grow in holiness. We offer two rounds of these retreats for families and faculty, providing a powerful opportunity for deep personal reflection and spiritual growth.

Throughout the year, we come together as a school community to celebrate special feast days that inspire us to live our faith more fully:

• All Saints’ Day: A celebration of holiness and the example of the saints.
• St. John Paul II Day: Honoring the Pope’s teachings on love, family, and personhood as guiding lights for living the faith today.
• St. Joseph Day: A tribute to the adoptive father of Jesus and a reminder to seek his intercession and live in humble obedience to God’s will.
• Mater Salvatoris Day – Stella Maris Day: A joyous celebration dedicated to the Mother of God, where the school community offers flowers and presents the fruits of the year’s work in her honor.
